The girl with seven fingers
is fully aware that she will
play only parts of Fur Elise
and Moonlight Sonata.
She sits every morning
before the heavy field of ivory
and imagines her hands,
bouquets of wormy fingers.
In these dreams, she has
the wingspan of six octaves
and hovers over the baby grand
her polydactyl talons, tickling
the beast to death.
