There it was
in the middle of
the sidewalk-
a broken jar,
once full of
marbles,
a beaded necklace
unstrung,
a camera commercial,
a comedy routine,
a thousand little points of light,
still in this
November sun,
and I was there alone,
like Paris, like San Francisco,
like Rome, like New York,
working up the courage to say
it was beautiful.

I found this to be beautiful...Not sure what I think the meaning behind it is though..
It is strangely a response to a pile of marbles that I saw scattered on the ground. It was just this exceptional moment to me that no one else was there to appreciate. I am not one to get too caught up in aesthetic moments, but it was poetic. I felt the need to write about it.
